Training for a 5K or 10K is tough work. We understand and have done it. So, we are offering a few different options for preparing for Greenville's best 10K (and even for the 5K).

Our first event will be the Kick-Off event (date TBD) @ 3 pm at Fleet Feet. Weencourage those that are considering signing up to come learn all about the program at this meeting and anyone new to also attend. Our coaches and mentors will be at the meeting to answer any questions. We will go through an informative PowerPoint and they will leave with all of their questions answered.
Our first practice will be in (date TBD).
Each Monday during training an informative newsletter is sent to the group, including research based articles that address many things such as (strength training, nutrition, hydration, stretching, and more.) There will also be clinics: Strength Training Workout for runners, Injury Prevention with a physical therapist from St. Francis and a clinic on nutrition for healthy eating.
This group is not your typical couch to 5k group and include all levels of runners. There are at least four different group levels and training plans for participants from which to choose:
Walk group- Goal is to walk the race
Run/Walk group- starts at run 1 minute, walk 2 minutes for 12 minutes and works up to run 4 minutes, walk 1 minute for the race.
Run Group- starts at run 4 minutes, walk 1 minute for 1 mile and typically works up to run about 10 minutes, walk 1 for the race.
NoBo II group- this group starts at run 2 miles and works up to 5 miles at any pace. The goal of this group is to improve their 5k time. This group will do speed and tempo workouts each Thursday and long runs on Saturdays.
